For Truth Hath Better Deeds Than Words To Grace It.

It doesn't matter what you do, and whatever you do, there is no one choosing to do it. All energies are equal, all insanities fitting, all deeds made moot by their fleeting non-existence; yet each form of the ever-changing, endless moment is rich in meaning and wonder. It doesn't matter how it is seen, this life, this existence; all perceptions are valid, all beliefs suitable, all thoughts appropriate, all action correct. Nothing delights in life; it is delight itself. The tug and pull of the quality of unconditional love as the pervasive and nascent quality of everything is compelling; we want it to be so; we need it to be so; it is so. Life makes no judgments on itself; it lives. The duality that exists so that life can take form necessitates good and bad, comfort and uneasiness, bliss and despair. What knows this, what sees this, and what notes this is what you are; you are not what is noted, although this case of mistaken identity is not wrong. Some scion of awareness crawls into the story and the story becomes all-important; and although a rising-above this is often encouraged, to be and feel and live the story is also a miracle, no matter what the story seems to be.

Without resistance, the unfolding story can flow into endless possibility, unhindered by the limited imagination. With resistance, the story can be intense in its emotions and rich in its synchronicity; remember no one chooses, all choices choose life, in yet another guise. To be free of the grasping ego is liberation, and to be caught up in the grasping ego is a privilege. Who judges that freedom is the ultimate goal? There are no true goals, only different energies, tasks appreciated or rejected, paths explored or uninvestigated. Life is life. There is no way to get it wrong; there is no way to get it right.

I love this clip from the ultimate pretentious, rule-breaking film of the eighties, My Dinner With Andre. The look on Wallace Shawn's face after Andre's interesting church story is priceless! Maybe imagination isn't so limited after all.

Perfect!
Each moment, I cannot find any plan, or way, only way. I cannot seem to even know what I will say, or do. I feel some tension and worry around this, and then see it dissolve, and feel vibrations very intensely arise and pass away. Even the idea: will I ever get used to this? -seems absurd and also okay in it's arising.
Thanks, Constance

Hey Constance, really nicely put.

Love it Suzanne! How synchronistic that I was watching Capitalism - A Love Story last night and Wallace Shawn was in that, too!

"Who judges that freedom is the ultimate goal?" GREAT QUESTION!!

Hi, Suzanne
Apparently, there is an error in one phrase of your post:
Some scion of awareness crawls into...
The word 'scion',
warm regards

Hey, you're just up the road from me in Kew! I live in Hampton Hill, and was in Kew Gardens last monday with my class. Would be great to meet up some time.

I love reading your blog. I especially liked what you wrote about how liberation is no better or worse than non-liberation...it's all just life dancing its dance!

I've recently started a blog called http://youareawareness.blogspot.comIt's just for fun. I'm still getting a grip on this whole blogging world...it's a fascinating hobby!

Thank you for the posts.

I agree...his expression at the end is BEAUTIFUL! Made me chuckle :)

I really need to go to work now!

Hi Shamash, I'll link up to you today.

It's ALL the same thing! Whatever the mind labels it.

Hey Fernando, all is unconditional love, including attempted pedantry!

A "scion" is a shoot, or tendril, that comes out of a plant, like the tendrils that come out of vines. I used it as a metaphor - all is awareness (the plant), and the scion is a personality, still part of awareness.

But I gotta say - for all you disabuse it, your English is fantastic.

Hey Sandi, I love Wallace as Rex the dinosaur in the Toy Story movies as well.

There is no ultimate goal...but freedom just might be realised.

Hey Suzanne, thanks for that.
I have some translations from your blog, and I would like to... Hmmm (my English is not SO fantastic!).
You know what I mean... ¿Dónde te las envío? Claro, siempre y cuando te interesen).

Hey Fernando, if you'd like me to translate something from my blog send it to my email, which is on my profile. I'll do my best but no promises about idiomatic language!

Hi Suzanne,

I love your posts and videos! :)

I wondered if you could say any more about the connection between synchronicity and resistance? I have not heard of anyone speak of the two in that way before, and it actually even seems counter to my experience (I think I notice them more when I feel that I am 'going with the flow' so to speak). Do you perhaps mean that when stories are clung to we look for evidence to support them subliminally, and notice them more? I don't know :( but would be interested to hear!

Hi Gabriel, I guess if you're crawling inside the story, taking it seriously, with all the resistance that implies, then sychronicity and all the other things that reinforce the story are apparent, including "going with the flow". "Going with the flow" is not some sign of awakening, it's just another story.

But the main reason for linking synchronity and resistance is to get the ego questioning its assumptions. All expectations limit existence...but there's nothing wrong with that. Even the limiting of existence and all the assumptions about that deserve to be questioned!

Gabriel said...

Righto, so 'going with the flow' does not imply 'awakening', I get that (I think)! However I would have thought that it was quite different to 'resisting' life, when unforced. In other words I (seem to) notice more synchronities when 'I' am being 'spontaneous' and just go with things. They rarely if ever add up to anything substantial and even the -really- bizarre ones I tend to forget soon enough but they are just interesting. I try to be aware of 'confirmation bias' etc.
So do you think I am actually doing the opposite of what I think I am doing? lol. Anyway, always glad to have my assumptions questioned! (well nearly always! ;) As with a lot of this stuff I am fundamentally f'ing confused lol but something deeper seems to keep bringing me back.

Hey Gabriel - you're doing just exactly what you're meant to be doing.

(btw i realise i would be missing a lot of the 'point' of ur 'message' if i was to start whinging about being confused... good job i didn't then eh. ahem) i've experienced what seem to be extreme moments of clarity where even abject agony is seen to be totally fine really. they are just fleeting, as something ('me') seems to want to claim them and KEEP them... However I seem to recall a time when I knew that 'I' would do it (pain, suffering, confusion) alll over again. Like drifting in and out of knowing that what is real is love. I love when you say that we need to know that, and it is so. That was very touching.

Everyday words appearing as if carved in rock, the sum total of them leaving no escape for the seeking mind... As if that would be a goal. :) Great piece, Suzy. Lovely.

you're OK, hang in there, love it. i had totally forgotten about that movie. i recently watched a video of you being interviewed, BTW, but I cannot remember where it was i came across it, it actually wasn't here at your site! you were on a white couch, I think. I think you completely blew the mind of the interviewer, nicely done!

No One In Particular said...

Hi Svante, like the carved rock analogy! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Lisa. It's a great film, one that proves you CAN have a conversation as a film and hold audience interest. I remember it caused some waves in the world of film criticism when it came out. And you must be talking about the conscious.tv interview. Renate's mind was just fine! I think she has very specific ideas about "awakening". Nothing wrong with that!
